This beach is situated on the western point of Dingle Peninsula, in County Kerry. I stayed with my Aunt and Uncle and cousins near the nearby town of Ballyferriter when I was young. I had happy memories of swimming with them at this beautiful beach with golden sands and turquoise waves. I timed a long drive south from Sligo with the hope of arriving here when the sky was blue and the surf was rolling in. I was not disappointed. The couple in the painting were on their honeymoon from Indiana.
